Legendary singer Joe Cocker has passed away after his battle with lung cancer reports his agent Barrie Marshall. Joe is famously known for his rendition of The Beatles’ song With a Little Help From My Friends which we once voted as one of the best covers of all time.

Long time friend and keyboardist of Yes, Rick Wakeman had this to say about the late singer in a statement to BBC Radio 2:

He had a voice that was just unique. […] The great thing is with someone like Joe is what they leave behind, and that will be with us for years and years.

Cocker had a long career spanning 6 different decades which resulted in 23 studio albums. He won a Grammy in 1983 for his duet, An Officer And A Gentleman, with Jennifer Warnes.
