Tony Rombola and Shannon Larkin Retire from Godsmack After Nearly 30 Years

In a heartfelt message to fans, Godsmack announced a major change in their lineup: guitarist Tony Rombola and drummer Shannon Larkin are retiring after nearly three decades of shaping the group’s sound and spirit. Their decision, made on good terms, reflects a desire to step away from the rigors of touring and embrace a quieter, simpler life.

Tony and Shannon have been instrumental in Godsmack’s journey, contributing not only their immense musical talent but also their passion and creativity. Their departure marks the end of a significant chapter, but the remaining members, Sully Erna and Robbie Merrill, are optimistic about what lies ahead.

While no permanent replacements have been named, Godsmack is continuing their current European tour with Will Hunt of Evanescence on drums and Sam Koltun of Dorothy on guitar, stepping in as temporary fill-ins.
Godsmack expressed deep gratitude to their fans for years of unwavering support and emphasized that Tony and Shannon will always remain part of their family. As they look to the future, fans can expect more music, more memories, and a continued connection with the legacy that’s been built together.
